Job Description

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong accounting background
Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate accounting or a similar role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with real estate accounting software like MRI and NEXUS can be beneficial
Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and other Microsoft applications
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and accounting operations of the properties and requires a strong understanding of real estate accounting, financial reporting, and portfolio management
The Development Financial Manager will play a critical role in optimizing financial performance across our asset portfolios
Oversee financial operations of real estate assets, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the property portfolio
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making
Manage accounting for construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting
Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Manage tenant billing, lease administration, and rent collection, ensuring compliance with lease agreements
Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between actual and budgeted financial performance
Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
Provide financial analysis and insights to support property management and investment decisions
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the financial stability of the property portfolio
Work closely with 3rd party property managers, leasing agents, and other stakeholders to ensure the financial success of the property
Help with administrative duties including organizing lease, contract and transaction documentation, and other relevant transaction support in an organized and thorough manner
Act as a liaison with clients, auditors, and legal counsel, assisting in client audit procedures

Job Summary:

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
