Job Description

Qualifications
Has a college degree in Interior Design or Architecture along with 8-15 years of experience in Interior Design with a Commercial Architecture/Design firm
Experience outside of residential homes absolutely required
NCIDQ certification required
Knowledge of LEED V4 and WELL
Must be able to self-direct and perform their work tasks without direct supervision
Understand the roles/responsibilities of project team members, interior design principles, and practices
Knowledge of interior building codes and regulations
Detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to maintain high-quality standards and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Understands document contents for schematic design, design development, construction documents, permit sets, and what documents are required for each project phase
Proficient in Revit, Word, Excel, Power Point, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D color renderings, and other programs
Understands furniture scope/tasks identified in proposal contract
Ability to identify when additional services are requested by client and communicates information with project manager
Knowledge of furniture–wood, metal, polypropylene including various upholsteries plus furniture sizes & required spatial clearances and the ability to prepare basic furniture layouts
Understands the importance of researching product options, limitations, content, durability, cost, and maintenance
Individual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard
Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds
Benefits
Base Salary: $64,400 - $80,432
The above salary range represent a good faith range for incumbents of this position

Takes the lead, both independently and in a collaborative team, in:
Managing small interior design projects with some supervision, sets and manages client’s expectations
Producing project drawings, schedules and specification information for interior building materials and furnishings per SWBR standards
Reviews interior design documents for completion and accuracy
Performing product research, furniture specifications, answering questions from clients
Reviewing and processing submittals and participates in punch lists
Answering requests for information (RFI), produces architect’s supplemental information (ASI)packages
Leads client meetings/presentations and works directly with clients
Preparation and presentation of materials boards–order/cut samples and layout boards
Preparation of informal and formal presentations including renderings and sketches
Project documentation including CAD production
Prepares furniture specification package

We are currently seeking a full-time Interior Designer (Level III or IV) in our Rochester, NY offices. Our Interior Designers are responsible for Interior Design, and collaboration with Interior Designers and Architects to develop design solutions, including space relationship analysis, aesthetic and functional requirements that protect the health, safety, and welfare of our clients. This position is 40 hours a week and will be 100% in office.
