Job Description
We are a team of dynamic health care professionals dedicated to providing a meaningful life experience to our haematology patients in a day care setting.
We are currently looking for a senior Health Care Assistant (HCA Band 3) who would like to join us in this endeavour. We need one who has proven dedication and genuine caring attitude towards patients.
Experience with cannulation or phlebotomy is desirable in this role, however, willingness to learn and positive attitude are more important as you will be supported by the team in acquiring new knowledge and necessary skills to become an even more efficient and successful Senior Health Care Assistant.
As a senior healthcare assistant the main duties within this role is to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing high quality direct and indirect patient care, demonstrating considerable responsibility and autonomy, providing guidance for junior staff within the team.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of excellent clinical care within the Haematology day unit in close collaboration with the registered nursing and medical team. You will support patients who attend for assessment pre-treatment, during treatment and those who may present with treatment related problems or unwell.
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond.
Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people.
We run major acute services at:
Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A&E) in the country. The hospital provides a full range of services including the country’s top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and one of only three hyper-acute rehabilitation units in the UK
St Mark’s Hospital: an internationally renowned specialist centre for bowel disease
Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre, and specialist care at Meadow House Hospice
Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.
