Health and Safety Officer
Permanent

Salary Range £37,500 - £40,500

About the role
In this role you will be managing and implementing processes to maintain legal compliance for Health & Safety (H&S) legislation across Macmillan, ensuring the physical wellbeing of our colleagues and volunteers at all times.

You will support the creation and implementation of a wellbeing strategy for Macmillan.

You will manage and review all H&S policies, ensuring they comply with H&S legislation, appropriate for Macmillan’s requirements, ensuring they are accessible to users.

In this role you will be working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of H&S within, including regular audits.

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• Strong understanding and experience of H&S legislation, guidelines, and best practice across all areas, including events, volunteers, premises, etc.
• Ability to support Procurement and the Legal Team on H&S matters, including contracts and tenders.
• Experience in working collaboratively with other departments in a matrix environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a practical, hands on and proactive approach to getting actions resolved.
