EL2 | SES1 Speech Writer | Federal Government | Canberra| Sydney or Melbourne

ACM Healthcare is on the lookout for an experienced Speech Writer to join our client’s Communications and Marketing team based in either Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. The role is within a federal government department and will be required to prepare speeches and other communication material at the direction of the department. The Speech Writer may also be required to provide training, mentoring or coaching related to the Services provided under the Contract to the department.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing and writing speeches and a range of other communication products for senior leaders including the Minister and executives
Managing competing priorities to achieve high quality outcomes within tight deadlines
Ability to develop staff speech writing capabilities, including coaching and mentoring of the current team of ongoing APS staff
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and short deadlines
Ability to lead and mentor staff




MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience in government and executive speechwriting
Relevant degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing. Alternatively, possession of recognised skills, cadetship or relevant experience
Negative Vetting 1, or ability to obtain and maintain
