EL2|SES1 Speech Writer

6-month contract| Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne Location | EL2: $84.66 - $100.68 per hour + 11.5% superannuation | SES1: $134.+4 - $168.72 per hour + 11.5% superannuation

OVERVIEW

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Speech Writer to join their team at the EL2/SES1 level. Within this role you will develop and write speeches and a range of other communication products for senior leaders including the Minister and executives.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing competing priorities to achieve high quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
Having the ability to develop staff speech writing capabilities, including coaching and mentoring of the current team of ongoing APS staff, further increasing the return on investment.
Speech writing for government and executives.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
Experience in government and executive speechwriting.
A relevant degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing. Alternatively, possession of recognised skills, cadetship or relevant experience that the agency considers appropriate to the duties of the position.
Demonstrated extensive experience in speech writing for government and executives
Demonstrated experience in delivering capability-building activities.
Demonstrated experience within a fast-paced professional communications environment.
High level stakeholder management skills.
Ability to communicate persuasively and with influence.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and short deadlines.
Ability to lead and mentor staff.
