Our client, a leading organization in the BFSI sector based in Birmingham/ Sunderland, UK, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer with a strong background in Java. This role is based in Birmingham/ Sunderland and offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• System integration - Work closely with various teams to integrate third-party applications and APIs.
• Performance optimization - Identify bottlenecks and improve application performance.
• Code reviews and mentorship - Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to junior developers.
• Technical documentation - Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing applications.
• Troubleshooting - Investigate and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments.

Required Qualifications:
• Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience - Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on the BFSI sector.

Technical Skills –
• We Are Looking For bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent work experience)
• Demonstrable core Java (JDK 8 and above) development experience (solid understanding of Core Java concepts and design patterns)
• Object-oriented design/development
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.)
• RESTful API’s and web services
• RDBMS experience (DB2 preferred, write/analyse complex queries with multi-table joins and aggregate functions)
• Understanding of Agile methodologies

Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of financial markets
• UNIX environment working experience
• UI skills a plus (HTML5/JavaScript/AngularJS/React)
• Graph database experience
• Big data technology stack
