Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced DB2 for Mainframe Database Administrator to join our team, supporting enterprise-level DB2 databases on z/OS. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the databases while working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Database Management: Administer and maintain DB2 databases on IBM z/OS mainframe environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot DB2 databases, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability.
• Backup & Recovery: Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data, ensuring robust procedures and frequent testing.
• Security Management: Manage database security, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Problem Resolution: Provide technical support for complex DB2 issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Data Integrity & Availability: Oversee data integrity, replication, migration, and archiving processes.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Collaboration: Partner with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement database solutions.
• Disaster Recovery: Develop, test, and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity of data in the event of a failure.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to compliance standards and assist in periodic audits.

Qualifications:
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator in a mainframe environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in DB2 for z/OS, SQL, SPUFI, IBM Data Studio, and CA Tools for DB2 (RC Query, Migrator, Log Analyzer).
• Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and z/OS operating system.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools like IBM OMEGAMON, CA Thread Terminator, and IBM Query Monitor.
• Familiarity with JCL, REXX, CLIST, and ESP Scheduler.
• Proficiency with backup, recovery, and database performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of DB2 System Versions V12M510 & V13M100.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification: IBM Certified Database Administrator DB2 for z/OS.
• Experience with data replication tools such as Q Replication or InfoSphere.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., REXX, JCL).
