Director of Accounting

Leading P&C Insurance firm seeks Director of Accounting to join their new look finance team!Reporting to the Controller, and carrying a dotted line to the CFO, the Director is tasked with overseeing statutory reporting for multiple entities and leading a team of Senior Accountants. This is a hybrid position requiring periodic travel.

Job Opportunity: Director of Accounting

Our client, a leading company in the Insurance industry, is currently seeking a Director of Accounting to join their Finance department on a permanent basis.

NAIC Statutory Filings:

Prepare, review and submit statutory financial statements in adherence with NAIC regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies such as state insurance departments.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators.
Review and finalize reports and other financial disclosures.

Compliance:

Stay up to date on latest statutory accounting guidance and implement changes to financial reporting procedures as necessary.
Conduct routine audits to assess adherence to statutory reporting standards.
Help develop and design accounting policy & internal controls.
Identify areas for process improvement, take corrective measures as necessary.

Financial Analysis:

Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends and variances - present findings to executive team.
Prepare customized financial reports and analyses for senior management, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
