Qualifications
2+ years of experience in the accounting profession required
BA or BS degree in accounting, business administration, or economics required
Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, derive accounting conclusions and present results to the team
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to be a team player and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
Responsibilities
Manage accurate and timely month-end close for all general ledger accounts
Collaborate with various departments on accruals and other monthly close areas
Research, analyze, and interpret complex accounting issues
General bookkeeping
Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and documentation
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports
Help document, implement, and maintain appropriate accounting policies and training documents
Support annual audits performed by external auditors
Identify opportunities for process improvements; suggest and implement improvements to scale and automate manual procedures and computations
Assist management in completing special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis

ValleyCFO is an outsourced CFO and accounting consulting firm that provides services to venture capital-backed companies. We seek a full-time Senior Accountant (or Accounting Manager for the right candidate) for a hands-on role responsible for all our clients' accounting responsibilities (AR, GL, Payroll, and Month-end close process). This role will be a hybrid on-site/remote position.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accurate and timely month-end close for all general ledger accounts
• Collaborate with various departments on accruals and other monthly close areas
• Research, analyze, and interpret complex accounting issues
• General bookkeeping
• Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and documentation
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports

Experience & Skills:
• 2+ years of experience in the accounting profession required
• CPA preferred but not required
• BA or BS degree in accounting, business administration, or economics required
• Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong System Skills (NetSuite, Expensify & Gusto preferred)
• Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, derive accounting conclusions and present results to the team
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to be a team player and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
