Front-End Engineer

Our technically advanced client is a leader in quantum computing. Through best-in-class software, they are scaling the sector, driving growth and advancing the laws of quantum physics. They now have an excellent opportunity for a Front-End Engineer to join their world-class organisation.

Front-End Engineer responsibilities:
• Design and develop resilient front-ends for web applications supporting quantum experiments
• Collaborate with designers to implement UI designs into high-performance code
• Lead technical discussions and make key decisions to meet product requirements
• Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices and technical skills
• Ensure web applications are optimized for performance and reliability
• Perform unit and end-to-end testing using tools like Jest or Cypress
• Implement and adhere to web accessibility standards (a11y, WAI-ARIA)
• Partner with researchers to support and advance scientific development

Front-End Engineer requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (2:1 or higher) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering
• 5+ years of web application development experience
• Strong skills in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
• Experience with React or similar frameworks (preferably Next.js)
• Proficient in web performance optimization and testing (Jest, Cypress)
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards (a11y, WAI-ARIA)
• Interest in Quantum Computing
• Experience with data visualization for scientific data
• Familiarity with FastAPI and Rust programming

Front-End Engineer rewards:
• A base salary circa 60-85k
