Job description
12+ years in patent prosecution, including significant experience in leadership, client management, and business development

Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc in ECE, EEE, CS, IT, Electrical (Patent Agent certification is mandatory)

Responsibilities
• Patent Strategy: Lead the strategic planning, filing, and prosecution of patent applications, ensuring alignment with client goals and legal requirements.
• Drafting Specifications: Oversee the drafting of detailed patent specifications and claims.
• Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering expert guidance on patent strategy and IP issues.
• Business Development: Drive business development activities to expand client base and generate new opportunities.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the patent team, promoting professional growth and effective team dynamics.
• Response Management: Supervise preparation and filing of responses to office actions and other communications from the Patent Office.
• Hearing and Opposition Management: Represent clients in hearings, manage pre and post-grant oppositions, and draft review petitions.
• Design Applications: Direct the filing and prosecution of design applications.
• File and Record Management: Oversee patent file management, email monitoring, prior art searches, patent watches, PCT filings, and renewals

Qualifications
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive strategic initiatives.
• Client Relations: Expertise in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality IP counsel.
• Business Development: Demonstrated success in business development and expanding client engagement.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in persuasive and creative writing.
• Patent Expertise: Extensive experience in patent drafting, office action responses, and complex IP issues.
• IP Knowledge: Deep knowledge of global IP laws, patent databases, and relevant technical domains.
• Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Certifications: Additional certifications or training in intellectual property or related fields are advantageous.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in leading patent practices, managing key client relationships, and driving business growth, with a deep understanding of the intricacies of patent law.
