Sleep.8 is a company which found its origins in London, specializing in the manufacture of furniture and mattresses. In just 3 years, we have opened 36 stores in 8 European countries and our expansion plan foresees the opening of several stores and the focus growth of Sleep8 UK

Your role as “Lead Accountant - Retail UK” is pivotal in overseeing the financial operations of our retail division in the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in financial reporting and accounting processes.

The progression path here, should your career and personal objectives align is to Finance Director and CFO as we reach the 100 store mark. This role is salaried and comes with bonus earning opportunities.

THE DAY-TO-DAY OF A LEAD ACCOUNTANT IN RETAIL UK AT SLEEP.8:
• Manage all aspects of financial reporting for the UK retail operations;
• Supervise the monthly close process and ensure timely delivery of accurate financial statements;
• Coordinate with regional teams to streamline financial processes and reporting standards;
• Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and enhance profitability;
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

WHAT WE SEEK IN YOU:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the retail sector;
• Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and retail financial management;
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel;
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively;
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
