Junior Software Developer

Starting Salary: £2+,000

Full time: 37 hours per week

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Junior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates, students in their final year of university, or individuals with equivalent experience in computer science who are eager to kick-start their careers in software engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science principles, a passion for continuous learning, and strong problem-solving abilities.

This role primarily involves Monday to Friday working between 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional out-of-hours support. As a hybrid role, the successful candidate must be able to commute to the office 3 days a week. Eligibility to work in the UK is a requirement for this position.

A selection centre will be held over 7th – 8th November in Taunton, with successful candidates joining in January 2026 or at the end of the academic year for any applicants still in full-time education.

What are we looking for?

Responsibilities:
• Develop, test, and deploy scalable and maintainable software applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues and optimise performance.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain current and competitive.
• Collaborate with team members in an agile environment.
• Work independently on assigned tasks, ensuring timely delivery.
• Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with code versioning tools such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and a proactive attitude towards overcoming challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-orientated environment.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn new technologies.

Additional Desirables:
• Knowledge of at least one programming language or framework such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Python, C#, .NET, Dart, or Flutter.
