Senior Service Charge Accountant / Analyst - Hertford - £excellent

We’re working with a long established, independent managing agent based in Hertfordshire which manages a wide variety of blocks for diverse clients across London and the Home Counties.

As a medium sized, friendly firm with ambitions to grow and an impressive pipeline of new business instructions, they now seek to appoint a Senior Service Charge Accountant as follows:
• Working Mon-Fri +-5.30 from an office base in Hertford
• Using QUBE to undertake a wide ranging and influential accounts role liaising with all internal teams (reporting to the Financial Controller) as required
• In addition to having excellent QUBE experience, you will have good all round system skills including Excel, Microsoft Office and ideally (but not essentially) Quick books desktop.
• Double entry bookkeeping
• Review ledgers for consistency and quality, before and after review by the responsible PM.
• Identify, calculate and enter accruals, prepayment and adjustment journals.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc financial management reports including budget versus actual reports in a timely manner for the property managers and clients. Help the PM’s analyse and explain variances.
• Reconciliation of supplier accounts
• Preparation and checking of year end accounts ready for audit
• Ensuring the service charge accounts team are effective and productive, including mentoring and training of existing and new staff. Develop their skills and implement process changes to improve productivity & control. Certify and document processes.
• Any and all other related accounting duties in support of the business, its clients and related regulatory requirements
• Full or part qualified AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA desirable but not essential - study for such will be encouraged and funded in-post.

This Service Charge role will suit an experienced Service Charge Accountant looking to expand their service charge accounts skills working for a small / medium size enterprise which will offer them the opportunity to get involved in all areas of the service charge accounts and decision making around processes.
