What does the job look like?

Located in Auburn, the Assistant Accountant role supports the delivery of weekly and monthly results for BevChain, ensuring accurate financial accounting and reporting, including revenue and cost recognition, timely billing, and supplier reconciliations. It also involves continuous improvement initiatives in Finance systems and processes. As a key Finance role, it partners with various stakeholders across Operations and Commercial to provide accurate and timely financial analysis and information. Key areas:

Prepare and issue weekly invoices and supporting documentation, ensuring timely delivery to customers
Deliver P2P processing, which includes generating purchase orders and processing supplier invoices
Conduct weekly and monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts
Assist in the preparation of standard journals on a weekly and monthly basis
Participate in the weekly and monthly financial close process and reporting, ensuring timely and complete delivery
Support the Management Accounts and Finance Managers in preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations as required
Support capital management by raising purchase orders for capital projects, identifying and monitoring capital expenditures, and completing asset capitalisations
Support various key stakeholders with adhoc financial analysis and financial information requests
Ensure all process documentation for key activities is updated for weekly and monthly activities

As the Assistant Accountant, you should have outstanding communication skills and interpersonal abilities, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities. We seek a motivated individual who excels in a dynamic environment and can effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. You can demonstrate:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting
Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting, or a related field
A CPA/CA qualification or active progress towards obtaining one is required
Previous experience with a large ERP system, SAP considered highly desirable
Demonstrated experience with financial analysis and reporting
Strong numeracy and reconciliation skills
Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and develop strong partnerships based on collaboration
