Job Title: Semi-Skilled Mechanic

Location: Westhill, Aberdeenshire

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Semi-Skilled Mechanic to join a well-established local family-run automotive, breakdown and recovery business based in the Westhill area of Aberdeen. The company are looking for someone who is starting their career and would like the the extra support to becoming an experienced Mechanic / Technician.

The service centre is known for providing an excellent service to a wide variety of customers and the successful Semi-Skilled Mechanic will join this hardworking and welcoming team. As a Semi-Skilled Mechanic your main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Basic servicing, maintenance & repairs on vehicles including: brakes, suspension and tyre fitting.
• Additional repairs of mechanic and electrical faults on cars and light commercial vehicles, depending upon skills and experience
• Fault-finding using a range of skills and diagnostic tools

To be considered for the role you must be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic and be able to work on your own initiative and think outside the box. The company is especially interested speaking to candidates who can demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
• Mechanic / Technician training and qualifications or proven "time-served" skills and experience. Would consider 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice.
• Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points for minor endorsements and no outstanding DD, DR or CD penalties.
• Recent practical garage or workshop experience including from a military environment
• Familiar with multi-meters and other garage diagnostic equipment
• Confident and personable when talking to customers

Salary: Is negotiable depending upon skills and experience. Fully-skilled Mechanics earn up to £35,000.

Hours & Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 plus and Saturday on a shared roster from 08:00 - 12:00.

Training: The company will provide industry-related training including:
• On the job and college courses, if required
• EV & Hybrid training
• MOT Class 4 Tester

Vetting: The company will require vetting including recent work references where possible.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
