Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities
Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a part-time security guard to work 16-24 hours a week
The successful candidate will be available to work weekends, holidays or occasional weekday evening shifts
This position requires a background reference and drug test in accordance with company policies
Promote security policies and operational procedures within the organization
Monitor security surveillance system and resets alarms once notified by Tyco Security office
Maintains security shift logs and makes hourly round visits to designated areas within the facility
During rounds, ensures all parameter doors and windows are closed and locked
Calls the local police department for security incidents requiring police assistance
Calls the local fire department in the event of a fire on the property or building
Reads and understands the Security Guard SOP manual to include the company call roster in the event a hazardous situation beyond the security guards control

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb staircases, sit, and talk or hear
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds

Part-Time Security Guard

Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a part-time security guard to work 16-24 hours a week. The successful candidate will be available to work weekends, holidays or occasional weekday evening shifts. This position requires a background reference and drug test in accordance with company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Prior security guard or police department related experience and/or training is preferred. Or a combination of education and experience in relationship to security will be considered. Must have basic computer skills and know how to use Email. Candidate must pass a background reference and drug test prior to being hired.

Language Skills
