Job Description

Performance tuning DBA

The Database Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth database operations, covering performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. Their responsibilities also encompass creating database objects, addressing performance issues, and overseeing data retention. Collaboration with data architects, analysts, and database owners is essential to support both immediate task requirements and long-term strategic initiatives. An ideal candidate should possess robust technical and communication skills and be capable of effectively presenting findings and recommendations to large audiences.

Responsibilities

§ Support ongoing efforts and provide technical support for multiple database re-platforming efforts to Exadata.

§ Reviewing and implementing data loading scripts related to GoldenGate data replication.

§ Optimization and tuning of SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Oracle 1+c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality.
• Strong programming/development skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) a plus.
• Proficient in performance tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
• Strong knowledge of database triggers, indexes, and partitioning.
• Expertise in Oracle architecture.
• Proficient in reading Query Execution Plans with the ability to evaluate and improve performance characteristics of SQL.
• Manage database objects like table space, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, DB links, and synonyms.

§ Monitoring of the database performance as it relates to memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.

§ Coordinate with data architects and analysts on the building of schemas, tables, functions, views, stored procedures, and roles.

§ Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development and routine database administration efforts.

Qualifications
• Any Graduate / Post Graduate
• 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience in Oracle Exadata.
• Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing, including GoldenGate and Informatica ETL.
• Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology.
• Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
• Good Communication skills.
• Self-Motivated.
• Works well in a team environment.
