Job Description
Position Summary:
The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Events Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. This role will be responsible for managing small and non-signature events, as well as providing administrative support to the Director of Operations and Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Management (60%):
• Schedule, coordinate, plan, and implement small and non-signature Chamber events
• Manage event budgets and conduct post-event follow-ups
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Marketing Director on event execution
• Ensure all event logistics are handled efficiently and professionally
2. Administrative Support (30%):
• Assist the Director of Operations and Marketing Director with various administrative tasks
• Provide front desk coverage for a few hours per week as needed
• Handle general inquiries and correspondence
• Maintain organized files and records
3. General Duties (10%):
• Attend Chamber meetings and events as required
• Contribute to the overall success of the Chamber by supporting team initiatives
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in event planning or administrative support roles
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for events
Additional Information:
• This is a part-time position without benefits
• The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with some in-office presence required
• Hours may vary based on event schedules and organizational needs
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup
