Farm Bookkeeper

The Opportunity: Do you have bookkeeping experience, an agricultural background, like meeting farmers and want a flexible role with progression, keep reading……... We are recruiting for a Farm Bookkeeper to cover the Devonshire region; you will play a key role in helping farm businesses manage their accounts. Working from home and on farm, you will be responsible for managing your client list. Full training will be provided during the induction and throughout your time in the role, providing the successful candidate with excellent development and career progression.

The Company: A UK based, international business providing financial consultancy services to the agricultural sector. The team is made up of specialists within the sector who are well placed to analyse businesses and make recommendations for improvement. A well renowned business that provides exceptional training and support packages for their employees.

Role Responsibilities:
• Visit customer farms and work alongside the clients to complete tasks that include data inputting, VAT returns, ledger control, invoice payments and management accounts
• Participate in training sessions, development opportunities and business meetings with your regional team

Skills you will need:

Essential:
• A basic knowledge and understanding of accounting principles
• A good understanding of the agricultural industry
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
• The ability to manage your diary and workload independently
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships
• Previous experience of farm accounting software packages
• Positive and proactive mindset, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn new information and take an active interest in the training provided
• UK driving licence

Desirable:
• Experience of using Xero accounting software
