This is a junior-to-mid-level in-house legal role joining the Legal Team of one of the world's largest Defence Contractors. The position, which is based in Surrey (with some home working) is centred around commercial contracts, procurement, IT and Defence related work. Client Details This company is a global leader in the Defence and Manufacturing sectors, boasting over 5000 employees. They are renowned for their innovative solutions and products, which have revolutionised the sector. With a commitment to excellence, the organisation has an established presence in the UK and worldwide market in which they operate. Description The role holder will work as part of an established Legal Teams which supports a number of business units in the provision of legal advice and the negotiation, drafting and execution of commercial contracts relating to the manufacture of Defence related products and services. This will include matters relating to: general Defence related work Competition law IT contracting product safety/product liability Profile The successful candidate will be a lawyer that is likely to be a UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister (likely to have between 1 and 8 years PQE - this guide is based on the level of work and the pay on offer for the role). They will have one of the following areas: a proven background in non-contentious commercial law gained at a major law firm/appropriate in-house experience experience assessing and advising in relation to the management of legal and regulatory risk, as well as drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts in an international environment Good understanding of commercial legal principles and business practice in a range of international markets Desirable: A specialist skill set such as UK Government contracting/defence sector experience, competition law experience, IT contracting experience or product safety/product liability experience Job Offer For further details on the package available for this role as well as further details relating to hybrid working and the general culture of this organisation, please apply to this advert.
