Job Description
1. Project Planning and Management
• Define project scope: Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones for Kronos/PeopleSoft Payroll implementation or upgrade projects.
• Budget management: Estimate, allocate, and monitor project budgets.
• Resource management: Allocate resources, assign tasks, and coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, HR, finance, and external vendors.
• Risk management: Identify potential risks related to payroll processes or system implementation and develop mitigation strategies.
2. System Implementation & Integration
• System implementation: Lead the implementation of Kronos or PeopleSoft Payroll systems, ensuring compliance with organizational requirements and industry standards.
• Integration: Oversee integration with other HR, accounting, and financial systems.
• Configuration: Customize system settings to meet organizational payroll needs, such as pay rules, attendance tracking, and timekeeping configurations.
3. Process Improvement
• Payroll process optimization: Work with HR and payroll departments to improve and automate payroll processes using Kronos or PeopleSoft.
• Compliance: Ensure payroll processes comply with legal and regulatory requirements, such as tax laws, wage-hour laws, and reporting standards.
4. Stakeholder Communication
• Collaboration: Communicate with stakeholders, including HR, IT, finance, and external vendors, to align project goals and timelines.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to senior management, including timelines, budgets, and any issues encountered.
5. Team Leadership and Training
• Team leadership: Lead and mentor the project team, ensuring everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
• Training and support: Organize training sessions for staff on Kronos or PeopleSoft systems and provide ongoing support after system go-live.
6. Testing and Go-Live Support
• User acceptance testing (UAT): Oversee system testing to ensure all payroll and timekeeping functionalities work as expected.
• Go-live planning: Plan and manage system go-live activities, including cutover, data migration, and user training.
• Post-implementation support: Monitor system performance after go-live and resolve any issues that arise.
7. Data Migration & Reporting
• Data migration: Oversee the migration of payroll data from legacy systems to Kronos or PeopleSoft, ensuring data integrity.
• Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll-related reports for compliance and decision-making.
Skills Required
• Kronos/PeopleSoft expertise: In-depth knowledge of payroll modules in Kronos or PeopleSoft, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Project management skills: Strong skills in project planning, task allocation, and stakeholder management, often supported by PMP, PRINCE2, or other certifications.
• Communication: Ability to clearly communicate project status, risks, and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially regarding payroll systems.
Minimum experience: 8+ years
