Job Description
Title: WCAG Accessibility Tester
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension)
Location: REMOTE
Required Skills
• Knowledge of Accessibility Standards:
• Familiarity with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0 and 2.1.
• Understanding of Section 508 compliance.
• Awareness of ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) specifications.
Testing Tools Proficiency:
• Experience with screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
• Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
• Familiarity with browser developer tools for accessibility inspection.
• Programming and Markup Languages:
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of semantic HTML and ARIA roles and attributes.
• Manual Testing Skills:
• Ability to perform keyboard-only navigation testing.
• Experience in conducting manual accessibility audits and creating detailed reports.
Attention to Detail:
• Keen eye for detail to ensure all accessibility guidelines are met.
• Thoroughness in documenting issues and remediation steps.
Domain Knowledge
• Industry-Specific Accessibility Requirements:
• Understanding of accessibility requirements specific to the industry (e.g., healthcare, finance, education).
• Awareness of legal and regulatory requirements related to accessibility.
• Preferred Skills Certifications (Optional but Preferred)
• Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
• Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)
• Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA)
Responsibilities
• Gather and analyze data including reviewing systems requirements to write test plans and scripts and then track defects and facilitate their resolution.
• Analyze, design, test, and deliver manual testing solutions for business areas and implement comprehensive software quality assurance strategies.
• Develop manual testing scenarios/user acceptance criteria by understanding business drivers and then analyzing and reviewing requirement specifications and/or user stories.
• Develop, review, and execute manual test plans, test scripts, and test data to ensure application products and services meet the business needs, quality standards, and end-user/non-functional requirements (i.e., environments and user interfaces).
• Document, track, and resolve software defects or issues in collaboration with the Product Delivery Team.
• Testing experience in Salesforce, Java, Mainframe, Mobile and Reports testing.
