Job Description

Cardiovascular diseases kill 21M people. Globally is one of the biggest burdens on healthcare, costing $300 B directly and another $300 B indirectly to the US economy alone.

Biio is an accelerator backed startup, developing an edge-AI processor enabling battery powered wearables and medical devices to do a 100x more, unlocking cardiovascular disease, blood pressure and potentially blood glucose monitoring non-invasively.

We are pre-funding at this stage and this is not a paid position. We are looking for a founding team member for our team with a background in wearable/biomedical signal processing and ideally AI.

They can be located anywhere and we are looking for the right skills and attitude. We are currently working on our proof of concept prior to going for raising funds.

This is a part-time position.

Job description:
• Responsible for Digital Signal Processing, including processing data collected by PPG, ECG, accelerometer sensors, extracting key features, implementing algorithms within Python.
• Based on the extracted features, further processing the data to generate health insights within cardiovascular health and more.
• Participate in evaluating, designing, debugging, and evaluating the application of new generation sensor systems in wearable products. This involves evaluating the performance and stability of sensors, as well as collaborating with other teams to ensure the adaptation and integration of the sensor front-end system with the back-end algorithm.
• Assist in the formation of Biio’s signal processing technology platform and develop a technical biomedical signal processing roadmap.

Job requirements:
• A bachelor's degree or above in computer science, communication, electronic engineering, optoelectronic signal detection, biomedical signal processing or related majors, and have at least 3 years of implementation experience.
• Ideally PhD or pursuing PhD within Biomedical signal processing and previously worked within health wearables signal processing.
• Deep understanding and proficiency in various digital filtering methods, able to use tools such as Python to filter, denoise, and enhance various forms of digital signals output from wearables.
• Familiar with the characteristics and processing techniques of human biological signals, including but not limited to PPG signals, ECG signals, Acc/Gyro signals etc.
• Familiar with adaptive signal processing techniques.
• Processing the data using AI to generate health insights within cardiovascular health and more
• Possess good communication skills, learning ability, and team spirit.

Benefits:
• Founding team member at an early-stage startup.
• High ownership of your work within an impactful field
