Position Title: Field Technician

We are currently in search of driven individuals to fill multiple Field Technician positions. This role allows you to work outdoors and contribute to various ecological projects without the requirement of a formal college or technical degree.

Location:

Greater Indianapolis, with projects extending throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Start Date

Immediate availability preferred.

Schedule

40-50 hours per week, no weekend or holiday work required.

Compensation

Hourly rate commensurate with experience, with overtime compensation at 1.5 times the hourly base rate and per diem for work-related expenses.

Key Responsibilities

As a Field Technician, you will collaborate with Team Leaders and Crew Foremen to accomplish daily project objectives. Your typical duties will encompass:
• Operation of light and heavy equipment
• Grading tasks for seed bed preparation
• Installation of trees, shrubs, and seeding in diverse environments
• Application of mulch, stone, and compost
• Implementation of sediment control measures
• Management of invasive species through mechanical and chemical methods
• Identification of native and invasive plant species
• Engagement in green infrastructure practices such as raingardens and detention basins

Required Skills
• Proficiency in equipment operation
• Understanding of grading and soil preparation
• Familiarity with landscaping installations and sediment control
• Knowledge of invasive species management
• Ability to identify various plant types
• Experience with green infrastructure techniques

Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Capability to work in variable weather conditions (including rain, heat, and cold)
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• A strong desire to learn and work in outdoor settings is essential
