They provide instruction that prepares students for careers in interior design, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Curriculum Development: -Deliver courses in interior design, ensuring alignment with program goals and industry standards. -Create lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that foster student learning and engagement. -Incorporate current trends, technologies, and best practices in interior design into the curriculum. Student Mentorship: -Advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters. -Provide constructive feedback on student work to support their growth and development. -Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking. Professional Development: -Stay updated with developments in the field of interior design through research, conferences, workshops, and professional memberships. -Maintain professional connections and networks within the industry. Collaboration and Service: -Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to enhance the overall educational experience and curriculum coherence. -Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities.Qualifications-Masters degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. -Prior teaching experience at the college or university level, with a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students effectively. -Professional experience in interior design practice is often preferred. -Proficiency in relevant software and technologies used in interior design education. Skills and Competencies: -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Ability to inspire and motivate students. -Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple courses and responsibilities effectively. -Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. Working Conditions: -Typically works in a classroom or studio setting within an educational institution. -May involve some evening or weekend hours, especially during peak academic periods.
