We are a small, family owned and operated automotive repair team looking for a likeminded individual who can help us out where we really need it!
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our service technicians and ensuring that our shop runs smoothly. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for the automotive industry. The Shop Assistant will assist in various tasks related to vehicle maintenance and repair, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
Duties
• Parts deliveries and pickup
• Vehicle & customer transport
• Basic automotive repair and maintenance : (Oil changes, brakes, tires, filters etc.)
• Help technicians with automotive related repair and tasks
• Shop, lobby and Lot cleaning and maintenance including snow removal
• Assist service technicians with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake services.
• Support diagnostic procedures by gathering necessary information and preparing vehicles for inspection.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
• Help with inventory management by tracking parts and supplies needed for repairs.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks under the guidance of experienced technicians, including welding and powertrain repairs.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
• Stay updated on automotive diagnostics and repair techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.
Experience
• Previous experience in an automotive environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices, and automotive service is advantageous.
• Candidates should have a basic understanding of automotive systems and components.
• Experience working in a dealership setting or as a service technician is a plus but not mandatory.
• A willingness to learn new skills related to automotive diagnostics and repair is crucial for success in this role.
