Job Description
Job Requirements
• Lead a small team providing basic civil design and engineering for development and construction of onshore renewable energy projects based on wind, solar and energy storage. Scope includes foundations design, roads, hydrological, drainage, geotechnical and GIS disciplines.
• Deliver basic 10% and 30% engineering packages for civil works.
• Own or support (depending on the projects) the pre-FEED and FEED phases of the projects.
• Prepare scope of works, evaluate technical proposals and support contracting of civil companies bidding for the FEED and execution of projects.
• Supervise and ensure adherence to BP and relevant international/local standards for the civil works related to the projects under construction. Verify and approve works before acceptance from suppliers.
• Preparing design specifications and technical reviews, assessing potential risks, materials and costs
• Incorporating special features and removing restrictive descriptions to ensure competitive bidding
• Working as part of a larger multi-disciplinary global team. Mentoring, development, priority management and coaching for the civil engineering team members
• Conduct planning and design for infrastructure systems (roads, bridges, pipes, water, wastewater, drainage)
Work Experience
1. 15 years of experience delivering civil works in solar or onshore wind renewables sector including foundations design, roads preparation, hydrological studies internationally
2. Proven experience contracting and managing supervision of engineering and construction companies delivering civil works. Similarly for the preparation of scope of works of the different packages
3. Proven experience in managing teams and people development including disciplines not in the core technical expertise
4.Proven experience in design of wind turbine foundations, roads, crane pads, cable trenches, provision of bill of quantities
5. Proven experience in inspection, acceptance and repairs of foundations and civil works
1. Excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written with both internal teams and external suppliers
2. Dedication to fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
3. Excellent communicator
4. Used to work in global teams and global projects
