Health New Zealand Counties Manukau is a dynamic and progressive organisation at the forefront of innovative health care delivery within the New Zealand Public Health Sector.
We are looking for a Charge Nurse Manager who will be able to provide nurse leadership across the Cancer and Palliative Care teams at our Middlemore Hospital, Manukau Health Park and Lambie Drive sites. Both teams are pro-active and take pride in delivering excellent service and quality patient care. They are responsible for working across all divisions and services to ensure patients receive timely access to care and that staff are supported and educated to provide end of life care to patients.
The Charge Nurse Manager provides professional and line management leadership to nurses working in cancer and palliative care services and is a key member in the Health NZ Counties Manukau cancer leadership team.
This role requires you to work in partnership with the medical, nursing and allied health staff across the care continuum to ensure safe, patient focussed care that are in line with the vision and values of our organisation.
This role also requires expert clinical knowledge and applied reasoning that enables safe case management of individual patients requiring cancer services.
As you will be required to work closely with key stakeholders within the Northern Region, we are looking for someone with exceptional communication and decision making skills, as well as great problem solving skills. The ability to build relationships, manage change and resolve conflict is also an integral part of this role.

Essential:
New Zealand Registered Nurse
Current Annual Practicing Certificate
Minimum 5 years post registration experience in NZ, cancer/palliative nursing experience preferred
Proven leadership and/or management experience
Post Graduate Diploma in progress (with a commitment to ongoing education)
