Ngā Waihua o Paerangi Trust (formerly known as Ngāti Rangi Trust) is currently seeking applicants for the role of Kaiārahi Whānau / Whānau Ora Navigator – Ngā Tini Whetu

Ngā Tini Whetū is a whānau-centred prototype designed to support families and improve the safety and wellbeing of tamariki, especially in their early life.

The primary purpose of the role is to engage with whānau to identify their specific needs and aspirations then help identify the services, education provides or employment and business opportunities to achieve their aspirations.

Key responsibilities for this role include;

Engage with whānau to facilitate and coordinate support systems which enable them to achieve their aspirations
Support whānau to become self-managing and take responsibility for their health, economic, cultural, social development, education and wellbeing.
Creation and maintenance of strong relationships with community health, education and social service sectors

The successful applicant will have the cultural and local knowledge necessary to understand whānau situations and build relationships of trust and confidence. Proven organisational, interpersonal and communication skills are important given the successful applicant will also contribute to monthly reporting to key partners. A relevant qualification in health, social science or humanities is desirable.

This is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (40 hours per week) position where applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. A current, full NZ Driver’s Licence is a requirement of the position. Some availability outside of these hours may be required to fulfil the requirements of the position, including but not limited to some weekend and evening attendance at hui.
