Job Opportunity: Security Officer for Children's Contact Centre – Bexleyheath

We are seeking a skilled and personable Security Officer to join our team as we embark on an exciting new venture: operating a daytime contact centre for children in foster care (Looked After by the local authority) and their birth families or friends in Bexleyheath.

About the Role
In this role, you will provide essential security support during supervised contact sessions, ensuring the safety and well-being of all attendees, including children, their families, and our staff. Your ability to engage professionally and empathetically with both children and adults will be a key asset in creating a positive, secure environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Welcome birth families and friends to the premises in a friendly manner, introducing yourself to them.
• Assist staff members in case of an emergency.
• Safely de-escalate any aggressive behaviour through non-physical means.
• Safely remove an aggressive or disruptive person from the premises if required.
• Contact police or emergency services when necessary.
• Accurately record and report any incidents.

Requirements
• A valid SIA Licence or recognized training certifications in de-escalation and safe handling.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect effectively with people of all ages.
• A calm, professional demeanour, particularly in handling potentially challenging situations.

Pay: £16.00 per hour
