Senior Software Architect needed for a well-funded startup disrupting the traditional banking and investment products space by delivering custom financial solutions at scale. As the team expands moving into 2026, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technological and cultural foundation. You'll leverage your Java expertise and leadership skills to build and implement robust backend systems, contributing significantly to the company's next phase of growth.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Backend Development: Drive the design, development, and optimization of backend architecture with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Platform: A streamlined wealth management platform that enables you to grow and manage all your finances in one place, with real-time insights and access.
• Strategic Contribution: Participate in high-level discussions, providing insights to influence technology direction and product innovation.
• Collaboration: Partner with a talented engineering team to design and implement features while maintaining high code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Support junior engineers in taking ownership of the full service lifecycle.
• Problem Solving: Address complex technical challenges with a results-driven mindset, delivering innovative and effective solutions.
• API Development: Design, develop, and deploy server APIs, adhering to industry-leading best practices.
• Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate closely with other business units to understand requirements, communicate effectively, and build the necessary systems to support organizational goals.

Skills / Experience Needed:
• 10+ years of backend Java development experience.
• Extensive experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
• Proficiency with tools such as Terraform, Docker, and GitHub.
• Front-end development experience using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL API development.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and expertise in managing complex systems.
• Proven track record of scaling technology for consumer-facing startups.
• Significant experience in high-growth startup environments.
• Deep core development expertise with distributed systems.
• Ability to travel to the Miami, FL office once per month (expenses covered).
• Experience in FinTech, fraud, payments, or credit is a major plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
