Job summary

Major Oak Medical Practice in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire

Immediate start

between 30-37.5 hours/week. Working hours between 08.00
and 18.30 Monday to Friday (shift pattern)

To commence as soon as possible

We are
looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our busy team.

The
successful candidate will be keen to learn and develop, with strong customer
service, communication and organisation skills. Experience of using SystmOne
clinical system is essential.

Salary is dependent
on experience and skills.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include but not be exclusive to:

Registering new patients

Processing Repeat Prescriptions in accordance to Practice Protocols

Process appointment requests for patients by telephone and in person.

Deal with visits requests

Customer Service i.e. meet and greet and attending to phone enquiries

Scanning patients clinical documents/letters

Photocopying and filling medical reports

Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail

Covering colleagues in event of sickness and shortage

Covering reception during the Extended hours openings in a rota basis

Booking community Phlebotomist

Salary is dependent on experience and skills.

Working in partnership with proactive Patient Participation
Group (PPG)

Management, DMARDS, Shared Care Treatment, travel clinic, Group Consultations
etc.

Job responsibilities

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate
service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Provide general assistance to the Practice Team and project a
positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or
via the telephone.

Qualifications

Essential
• Good standard of general education
• GCSE Mathematics - grade A to C
• GCSE English - grade A to C
• Word Processing/Information Technology
Desirable
• Customer Service NVQ qualification

Experience

Essential
• Practical experience of working with others
• Experience of working within a General Practice office
• environment
• Experience of using SystmOne
• Practical experience of computerised recording systems
Desirable
• Experience of using own initiative
