Job Description

As a Corporate Security Officer, you will directly and indirectly provide safety, security, and outstanding customer service for all employees, contingent workers, vendors, and visitors at the Best Buy Bloomington Campus. You will help educate them on Best Buy Safety and Security procedures and enable them to help us keep the Bloomington campus safe and secure.

The officer is an integral part of the Bloomington Security team and performs responsibilities within the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and supports and partners with the Bloomington distribution center security team.

Hours (Saturday - Wednesday) with flexibility required

Job Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service to all employees, contingent workers, vendors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Working at a security station, Security desk and Gate house (which may include extended standing or sitting)
• Understanding of secured yard management and ability to check in trailers into a Yard management system.
• Patrolling the of the Bloomington DDC, photo studio, virtual experience store and securing of doors and gates as required.
• Monitor alarms and video cameras, manage physical security access control standards and permissions for all building badge and key access permissions for the Bloomington DDC, Photo studio and Virtual experience store.
• Respond to all emergencies and provide medical care to all patients at the Bloomington Campus.
• Provide assistance for facility management in matters that pertain to safety and security at the Bloomington Campus.
• Conduct monthly equipment checks and ensure equipment is operational and initiate repair/replacement of defective equipment, SOP documentation and other special projects

Basic Requirements:
• 1 year of Customer Service Experience in retail, hospitality security or similar
• Valid Minnesota Driver's License, or have the ability to obtain one

Preferred Requirements:
• Security experience in a corporate, retail, hospital, or college setting preferred
• Emergency Response Experience, such as law enforcement, firefighting services, emergency medical services or related field
• Emergency Medical Response Certified; Emergency Medical Technician Certified; First Aid, CPR and AED Certified; or Community Emergency Response Team Certified
• Previous experience with Lenel OnGuard, Genetec CCTV systems and Intrusion and fire alarm panels and yard management systems.
