Salary - £+6,000 - £131,000

Location - Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield or Newcastle

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are looking for a Senior Commercial Specialist (Deputy Director)to join the Commercial Directorate, one of the largest and most high-performing commercial teams in government. This senior leadership role involves managing the Digital Commercial Category, with a £350m+ annual spend, delivering IT services and supporting transformation across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead sourcing strategies and manage complex digital procurements.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Oversee a team of ~30 commercial professionals, driving capability, well-being, and inclusion.
• Shape digital strategies as a key commercial advisor to stakeholders.
• Deliver value for money and meet agreed savings targets.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement outcomes and share best practices.

Essential Criteria:
• Extensive experience in managing complex digital procurement and supplier relationships.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven expertise in building commercial capability and delivering results in a regulated procurement environment.
• A resilient and collaborative approach to managing complexity and risk.
