Orbital Recruitment are recruiting for delivery drivers ‘assistant on an ongoing basis for a well-established furniture business based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Duties

This is an exciting opportunity to join our clients delivery service team. As a Delivery Driver Assistant, you`ll play a key role in serving our clients customers.

Your standard working week will be 38.75 hrs (excluding breaks), however you`ll be paid in accordance with total hours worked to allow for variations in daily routes.

We can also offer adhoc/ part time opportunities

Job Description
• You'll be out on the road, working alongside a Delivery Driver.
• At every touchpoint during delivery, you`ll be acting as a professional representation of our clients brand.
• This is a hands on role, so you might be lifting anything from a mattress to a sofa bed, you will also lift in pairs. The vehicles are loaded for you ahead of your shift so you can focus on getting on your way.
• With the help of their training, you'll become a fantastic assembler.
• Be polite and friendly with the customers.

Experience Needed/ About You
• Friendly and personable nature
• Reliable
• Team player
• Previous drivers mate / furniture delivery would be fantastic
• Able to stay calm under pressure if things do not go to plan for example road works blocking your planned route
• Excellent communications skills to build rapport and establish great relationships with customers and colleagues
• To begin with, your ability to follow instructions will be important as you will be learning new things so a willingness to learn is a must
• Our client works Saturdays so this would be a normal working day to you

Pay/ Salary
• Pay rate is £11.50ph - £12.34ph Paye

Hours & Contract Type
• Monday to Saturday are the working days however we can offer less days as well for people looking for adhoc/ partime, shift time is 7am - 4pm.
• Weekly pay.
