Objective
Home Instead® Care Professionals® provide a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes. These services are meant to enhance the quality of life for seniors. Home Instead® Care Professionals® help clients and their families meet the challenges of aging with dignity, pride, care, and compassion.
As a CARE Pro You'll Enjoy
• Guaranteed Hours: Secure pay for a minimum of 35 hours per week.
• Guaranteed Wage: Consistent pay rate for all guaranteed hours based on your current wage.

• Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML): Accumulate 6 days (48 hours) of paid PFML annually, plus additional time per our employee handbook.
• Weekly Schedule: Receive your weekly schedule from our dedicated Staffing Department.
Primary Responsibilities
• Reflect the core values of Home Instead®.
• Enhance Client Quality of Life: Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life.
• Documentation: Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client's needs or living conditions.
• Communication: Maintain regular communication with supervisors and franchise office staff.
• Companionship & Home Helper Services: Provide companionship and conversation, assist with walking, prepare meals and clean up, provide medication reminders, perform light housekeeping tasks, wash and iron laundry, run errands, and accompany clients to appointments.
• Personal Care Services: Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence issues.
• Specialized Services: Provide advanced Alzheimer's/Dementia care and Hospice care.
Secondary Responsibilities
• Complete all required training designated by the franchise office.
• Participate in company-sponsored training and social events, including Care Professionals® meetings.
• Report hours according to office policy & communicate changes in availability in a timely manner.
• Participate in annual Engagement and Pulse Surveys.
• Document client information in Client Journal or within the operating software app.
• May require running errands and providing incidental transportation for a client using your vehicle or a client's vehicle.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this rewarding position, you must meet the following criteria:
• Comprehensive Training: Be trained and ready to provide all types of services within our scope of care, including using assistive devices and offering companionship.
• Versatility: Be willing to work with clients of all demographics and care levels, including those with special circumstances or challenging behaviors, such as Alzheimer's or dementia.
• Flexibility: Be prepared to travel across McHenry and parts of Lake, Cook and Kane Counties to see clients.
• Availability: Commit to a schedule of 5 days per week with availability from 10 PM to 8 PM, including every other weekend, to meet the 35+ hours per week requirement.
• Reliable Transportation: Have your own vehicle with a valid driver's license and insurance, and maintain a clean driving record.
• Age Requirement: Be at least 18 years old.
• Background Check: Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test.
• Technology Proficiency: Ability to learn technology for franchise offices using the home care tablet and for online training and development.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, or pull 25 pounds, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach.
• Environmental Adaptability: Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew, and cleaning solutions, and to adapt to various living environments and locations.
• Client Communication: Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
