Job Description
About the Company - Our client is a contract management and document collaboration software company that specializes primarily for the construction, engineering, and architecture industries. We have a full time REMOTE MANAGER & COUNSEL opening with expertise working on AIA contracts. Must have at least three (3) years prior legal experience, including two (2) or more in construction industry related practices. Some travel is required to attend Documents Committee meetings, professional conferences and meetings, and staff meetings and events, approx. 5-8 trips per year for 3-4 days each (15-20%).
Responsibilties:
• Perform legal research, and prepare case briefs and legal memoranda, as needed to clarify contract issues.
• Perform outreach to industry stakeholders by attending conferences and events as described below, and by interviewing industry stakeholders to get input on issues relevant to the development or update of AIA Contracts.
• Issue document drafts to outside organizations for comment; organize, synthesize, and record, or oversee the recording of, comments for committee review; coordinate discussion of comments; and record committee responses and action.
• Create and maintain accurate written and electronic records of drafts, correspondence, and meetings.
• As needed, prepare and/or edit presentations and webinars or other design or construction topics, for presentation by the Manager and Counsel.
• Demonstrated skill in legal and basic writing and editing.
• Skill in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail. Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
• Experience in contract drafting. Skill in legal research and analysis.
Qualifications - J.D., Bar Membership in at least one state and at least 3 or more years of relevant experience required.
Required Skills
• Contract law experience and knowledge of the AIA contracts used in the design and construction industry is required.
• Construction litigation experience, law firm experience, or in-house counsel experience

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
