An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Nurse to join the Adult Dermatology Commercial Research Team within the award-winning St John’s Institute of Dermatology based at Guy’s Hospital. You will work as part of and be supported by a well-established multi-disciplinary research team with a strong track record of producing high impact, translational research.

The ideal candidates will have developed excellent core nursing skills having worked in an NHS setting and have knowledge of Good Clinical Practice as it relates to Research (https://www.nihr.ac.uk/health-and-care-professionals/learning-and-support/good-clinical-practice.htm). They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will possess good timekeeping and prioritisation skills and be willing to learn and develop within the role.

The normal working hours for the post is Monday - Friday +am- 5pm although the post holder may need to be flexible to accommodate patient visits and assessments outside of these hours when required. The post will be based at Guy’s Hospital. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at additional locations according to the needs of the projects.

Once trained, the candidate will have responsibility for leading on a portfolio of Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs). You will be tasked with liaising with clinical teams to recruit eligible patients, deliver clinical interventions (including dosing) and conduct tests according to specific study protocols. You will also be responsible for study follow up, data entry, ensuring patient safety and maintaining high levels of quality assurance expected at GSTT. Alongside our Lead Clinical Trials Practitioner, you will also be involved in the set-up of new trials across various areas within adult dermatology research.

The team provides a range of services and facilities to support commercial research aimed at improving outcomes in people with skin disease. We have developed a comprehensive portfolio of clinical trials and biomarker-enabled precision medicine. We work with investigators within both the academic and industry community, collaborating closely with The Cutaneous Immunology Group, Skin Inflammation Genetics Group and Genomic Medicine at King’s College London.
