Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Days: Monday to Sunday (2 weekends per month)

Shift Times: Early: 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm & Late: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm

About the Role:

As a Housekeeping and Catering Team Leader at King Edward VII’s Hospital, you will play a crucial role in upholding our hospital’s reputation for excellence. This position involves leading a dedicated team of housekeeping and catering professionals to ensure that our patients and visitors experience a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, meeting regulatory requirements, and fostering a positive and efficient team atmosphere. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about service quality and team leadership in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and Inspire: Guide the housekeeping and catering teams daily to ensure that cleanliness and service standards consistently meet our 5-star expectations, creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
• Ensure Compliance: Monitor and enforce adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, to maintain a compliant and high-quality care setting.
• Uphold National Standards: Implement and follow the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021 to provide a hygienic environment that aligns with the latest healthcare cleanliness benchmarks.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with two other Team Leaders to streamline team efforts and enhance operational efficiency, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted service across all shifts.
• Facilitate Communication: Promote clear, consistent communication within the team to maintain a cohesive and high-performing workforce focused on delivering an exceptional patient experience.
• Provide Hands-On Support: Assist the catering team as needed, even if it’s outside your primary experience, to ensure seamless service delivery and strong team morale.

What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience as a Team Leader or Manager in a similar setting, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
• A passion for delivering exceptional 5-star service with a hands-on, proactive approach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills to coordinate effectively with team members and maintain a smooth operation.
