Job Description

• Job Summary

Fairlawn Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for administering routine medications to residents/patients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Dispensing and preparing oral medications as per physician orders.
• Providing routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to patients whose condition and drug regimen are stable.
• Administering and documenting medications in the indicated dosage at the correct time, via the desired route.
• Performing capillary blood glucose checks.
• Taking resident's vital signs, keeping records and monitoring for side effects.
• Turning oxygen on and off at pre-determined, established flow rate.
• Reporting any changes in a resident's vital signs or behavior or any other indication of adverse effects from a medication to the Charge Nurse.
• Counting controlled substances.
• Cleaning and restocking medication cart.
• Ensuring punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

Requirements:
• Graduate of a CMA program required.
• Valid certification as a CMA in the state of employment.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
