Job Title: Digital Operations Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Cumbria / Warrington

The Programme and Project Partners model was mobilised in 201+ to transform major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site.

A partnership between KBR, Amentum, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Altrad Babcock and Sellafield Ltd delivers a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support decommissioning and create a clean environment for future generations.

KBR's rapidly growing nuclear team works at the forefront of the UK's nuclear space on new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes.
Job Description:

The role is part of the PPP Digital Operations Team providing support to the Common Data Environment, a collection of circa 50 applications platformed on a hybrid public, private Microsoft Azure based cloud.

As a DBA, you will work with the Platform Service Provider to support databases running on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. Responsibilities include tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, performing database housekeeping such as tuning, indexing, monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels.
• Resolving technical issues related to database layers for Commercial off the Shelf applications.
• Collaborating with developers, system administrators and other stakeholders to support and maintain databases for efficient use of resources.
• Supporting development and implementation of database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
• Maintaining database backup and recovery strategies to minimise data loss and downtime.
• Planning and executing database migration and upgrade projects.
• Identifying and resolving database performance issues and bottlenecks.
• Documenting database configurations, procedures and troubleshooting steps.
• Engaging with users, third party support providers and other Digital resolver groups to troubleshoot technical issues.

Key Experience and Skills:
• Experience supporting SQL Server, Oracle or similar Relational Database Management Systems.
• SQL experience (Transact SQL / PL SQL).
• Ability to oversee request and incident queues to ensure Service Level Agreements are honoured.
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver trusted analysis and information.

Salary:$60,000 - $80,000 per annum
