Small Town Productions is in search of a journalist/graphic designer that knows their way around a camera.
This job is purely donation-based. Upon publishing, you will receive a donation link to input into your articles, or our lead editor can do it for you.
The perfect applicant for this job doesn't have amazing camera skills but has a good knowledge of current events, they truly care about the people. Small Town Productions is an organization that treats their clients and employees like family. Our Journalists are very important to us and your safety comes first. We believe that videos and photos are tools that can be used to aid and inform one another, and not just to make a profit.
we want to help get the public's voice and stories out there that will better form the community and make a change, and lastly we want to help local businesses find the customers that are looking for their products using sponsored ads. We are everything Small Town and our attitude reflects just that "neighbours informing neighbours".
Job Description:
This job is a unique job for an individual that truly wants to help the community. The hours of this job are flexible (make your own schedule) as we realize a donation based position's income can be unpredictable. You will be required to check in once a week via video chat or over the phone to inform the company of any story leads or published stories you have submitted. Camera operation may be requested as well, although it is not a necessity for this job. If the applicant owns their own camera then that would be a major advantage for the individual, as the number we have are limited.
Prime Applicant Traits Include:
-Enjoys talking with people and making amazing content
-Has minor knowledge of camera operation
-Is able to understand people
-Has knowledge of online blogs (an asset but not required)
-Has personal camera equipment (an asset but not required)
Job Responsibilities:
-Generate non-biased & factual stories/articles to publish in our news section of our website.
-Maintain and Uphold the standard of journalistic integrity that we aim for at Small Town Productions
