Junior Architect

Job Description

An Architect needs to be proactive, eager to learn, and open to taking on a variety of tasks. The specific duties may be adjusted based on the intern's skills, interests, and the needs of the architecture firm. Additionally, interns should seek feedback regularly to improve their skills and contribute effectively to the architectural projects they are involved in.

Assist In Design Development
• Collaborate with architects to develop design concepts.
• Create and modify architectural drawings using software tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit.
• Participate in design meetings and contribute ideas.

Research And Analysis
• Conduct research on materials, construction methods, and building codes.
• Analyze site conditions and constraints.
• Collect and organize data related to the project.

Documentation
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Maintain and organize project files.
• Green Building certification documentation. (IGBC, GRIHA, etc)

Modeling And Rendering
• Create 3D models and renderings to help visualize design concepts.
• Work with various software tools to produce presentation materials.

Site Visits
• Accompany architect's on-site visits to observe construction progress.
• Document site conditions and report back to the design team.

Collaboration
• Collaborate with other team members, including architects, engineers, and designers.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and consultants.

Learning And Professional Development
• Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in architecture.
• Attend workshops, seminars, or training sessions to enhance skills.

Support Administrative Tasks
• Assist in project coordination tasks, such as scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing project documentation.

Code Compliance
• Familiarize yourself with local building codes and zoning regulations.
• Ensure that design proposals comply with relevant codes and standards.

Problem Solving
• Assist in solving design challenges and addressing issues that arise during the project.
• Propose creative solutions to design problems.

Communication
• Clearly communicate ideas and concepts through verbal, written, and visual means.
• Participate in internal and external project meetings.
