We’re seeking a talented and motivated Junior Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you’ll contribute to developing scalable, database-driven web applications that will directly impact local authorities and schools.
You’ll be helping to develop innovative systems to manage, analyse and present national education data, as well as finding creative ways to incorporate that intelligence into our existing range of products. You will gain experience in technologies such as .NET, SQL and Vue.js.
This is a hybrid role which will require regular time working from our office in Liverpool.
Starting salary: £25,000-30,000 (plus benefits).
Job Requirements
Essential
• 1+ year of experience as a software developer.
• Web-based programming. (ASP.NET Core or similar)
• Experience with C# and understanding of OOP concepts and principles.
• Experience in building APIs
• Knowledge of SQL and database interactions.
• Familiarity with HTML & CSS
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passion for learning and a willingness to grow your technical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable
• Experience with JavaScript
• Experience with Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks
Day-to-Day Role
As a Member Of Our Development Team, You Will Work Closely With Other Developers And Manual And Automation Testers. Your Typical Day May Involve
• Taking part in our morning stand-up meeting with the development and test teams to share the day’s progress, roadblocks and tasks.
• Working with our Project Management team to plan sprints in Jira and ensure the right priorities are delivered.
• Collaborate with other developers through pair programming and code reviews to learn best practices and improve code quality.
• Working on your assigned tasks, these can include fixing bugs, optimising existing code, working in an API or Vue.js.
• Taking part in knowledge-sharing sessions with the development team.
Personal Development
You will report to the Head of Development and join a team of experienced and supportive developers.
You will also be expected to update and maintain your own Personal Development Plan (PDP) on a quarterly basis as part of our performance management process. Through this process, we hold regular one-on-one discussions around your development at Angel Solutions.
The PDP will touch on your development, other skills and training required for development within the role in line with Company Objectives and development around softer behavioural skills as outlined in our “Angel Way.”
