Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions on the Snowflake platform. As a Senior Snowflake Architect, you will be responsible for leading data architecture initiatives, driving the adoption of best practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of data solutions to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Architectural Design:
- Design and implement scalable and high-performance data architectures using Snowflake.
- Develop data models and design data pipelines to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs.
- Ensure architectural designs align with business requirements and industry best practices.
2. Data Integration and Migration:
- Lead data integration efforts, including the migration of data from on-premises systems or other cloud platforms to Snowflake.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
3. Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Snowflake data warehouses to ensure efficient query execution and resource utilization.
- Implement best practices for data partitioning, clustering, and caching.
4. Governance and Security:
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, including data quality, privacy, and security.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
5. Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with stakeholders, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and peers.
6. Documentation and Communication:
- Create comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, data models, and processes.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including presenting findings and recommendations.
Requirements:
- 10-14 years of experience in data architecture, with a strong focus on Snowflake.
- Expertise in Snowflake architecture, including data modelling, performance tuning, and data integration.
- Proficiency in SQL and Snowflake-specific SQL extensions.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, Matillion, Talend, Apache Nifi) and data integration platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing concepts.
- Snowflake Certified Architect is a plus.
- Experience with additional cloud data platforms and tools.
- Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts.
