Fixed-Term, Part-time (July – December 2025)

24 Hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Can be based in one of Te Kura regional offices: Wellington, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown

Teaching at Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu

At Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura), our Kaiako engage with ākonga both online and face-to-face. As part of the role, you will facilitate Huinga Ako (Learning Advisories) once a week, alongside working closely with colleagues in our regional offices. We also provide flexible working options, allowing up to two days per week of work-from-home arrangements.

We're looking for a passionate and innovative Kaiako with expertise in Science to join our team in a Te Kura tari (office) located in: Wellington, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown.

In this role, you'll:

Design and deliver personalised, authentic learning programmes tailored to the strengths and needs of ākonga.
Facilitate weekly Huinga Ako, guiding and supporting students through their educational journeys.
Collaborate with colleagues and interact with students online and in person to foster meaningful learning experiences.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and current assessment practices.

Build strong, collaborative relationships with ākonga, whānau, and colleagues.
