Your new role
We have an exciting temporary opportunity (6 months) for a Kerbside Reform Project Officer to join the Waste Management team at Knox. As Kerbside Reform Project Officer you will assist in the implementation of Council’s kerbside reform project, which includes changes to our waste and recycling services and delivery of programs required to achieve positive behaviour change within the community. This role supports a key Council project focused on meeting Council's obligations under the Victorian Governments Recycling Victoria Policy.

Reporting to the Coordinator Waste Management and working with the Kerbside Reform Project Lead, this role will help deliver bin lid colour changes, be responsible for implementation of Council's own FOGO service and drive and manage community support and behaviour change programs. The role will also manage Council's compost rebate and bin inspection programs and play a key role in managing data and customer requests related to the kerbside reforms. The role sits with a dynamic and supporting team but will also work collaboratively across the organisation and with other Council providing advice and support to both internal and external stakeholders on kerbside reform projects.

This is a temporary part-time position (4 days/week) until 4 April 2025 based at the Civic Centre, but we can offer hybrid working arrangements and flexible work options for the right candidate.

This is a Band 6 classified role, with remuneration between $+5,488.6+ - $104,288.00 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

Experience in community and stakeholder engagement demonstrating strong and well developed communication and engagement skills and practices
Experience in design and delivery of community education and behaviour change projects
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Office technology, Customer request and data management skills (including Microsoft programs and customer request management systems), together with the ability to learn new software applications.
