The company is a contract service provider for Pharmaceutical, Biotech and healthcare organisations. Located in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, this organisation is currently undergoing substantial growth.
About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager on a 3 month contract who displays initiative and is well organised. This role will Coordinate and lead clinical sample logistics operations for a busy and modern laboratory as part of an integrated service adhering to best industry practice, regulatory guidelines, and SOP requirements.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Ensures accuracy in sample handling and processing to ensure repeat sample collection is not required and company reputation is upheld with external vendors.
Oversees laboratory related queries and ensures they are addressed and actioned accordingly.
Ensures adequate resources and equipment to undertake current and potential future clinical trial laboratory protocol requirements.
Sources equipment and consumables for the conduct of studies and identifies where an item may not be available/approved for use in Australia in order to ensure seamless trial conduct.
Attends CRU scheduling meetings and provides feedback on any operational or logistical challenges that may be anticipated prior to scheduling confirmation.
Ensures adequate resources (equipment and staffing) are available to conduct the study and escalates any deficits, challenges or support needed
Offer hands-on sample processing peak periods and times of low resource availability.
Assists in implementing Change management Policies to help the team adjust to new processes, structuring and other endeavors between the two companies.
To be successful in this position you will have extensive experience in laboratory environment such as an analytical, pharmaceutical or pathology lab managing staff.
Experience working in a quality-controlled environment preferably an accredited facility following ISO/IEC 17025, GLP or similar quality-controlled environment
Experience in handling clinical samples and international shipping and logistics
Experience with use and/or configuration of a Lab Information Management System (LIMS), facility and security management systems.
